"My name's Kasey Braxton or just Kas or Kasi for short. I'm 19, an openly gay youth and I'm a dancer...well I guess the correct term for my particular skill set would be that I'm a male cheerleader. I bet you weren't expecting that right? We are a bit of a rare species nowadays, but I love it and I worked hard all through my high school years to get as good, as I am today with a little help from my dance background growing up. It paid off though since I graduated at the top of my class and became a varsity cheerleader along myself and earning a cheerleading scholarship with Florida State University, where I am now heading into my second year. Summer's here, so that means I'm cheer camp bound at Lake Varsity with my squad. I don't what it is, but I think it's going to be my best summer camp yet. I can't wait, who knows..maybe I'll actually find my Mr. Right here, if I'm lucky. Keywords: IF and LUCKY." - K. Braxton.

Three hours later, three coaches carrying a large selection of campers aging from from 17 to 21, who had just entered Lake Varsity; a campsite full of all kinds of activities from sports to musical theatre to cheerleading and the intellectual enthusiasts among other things to cater to different people and their interests. One by the one the youth of today exited their large coaches gasping for some air with it being so hot and stuffy inside their pre-planned mode of transport, but all still were genuinely excited and eager to get started after a little rest and relaxation time. Once all the campers had left their respective coaches; various members of the Lake Varsity staff members made their way over to their new arrivals with smiles on their faces, greeting everybody along the way and asking their new students to quieten down, so they could speak to everyone at once.

"Welcome everybody to Lake Varsity!" welcomed the Camp Director. "Once again summer is here, and Lake Varsity is once again our playground! This year, we've decided to thrown in a few fun events, but more on those later." he revealed with a smile, "As some of you may know or don't know, my name is Logan Grant, I'm your Camp Director and chief liaison." he smiled some more. "I have to see, its wonderful to see so many familiar faces here again. Anyway today is all about getting to know each other, relaxing and gearing up for tomorrow's big day, when all your activities we begin. So why don't we get you all settled in eh?" asked Logan, who paused before speaking some more with a smile. "As usual, we'll be putting girls and boys in opposite parts of campsite; who we like to call the Foxes for the boys and the Vixens for the girls. My two associates; Damien Lloyd and Jacqueline Bennett will escort you to your designated living quarters, so you can unpack and such, feel free to look around the campsite also. Then in four hours, we'll meet in the main hall for a big meet and greet mixer bash; where we'll be serving food and drink, before splitting everyone up into teams for some fun and games!" he revealed. "Now head over to your respective residential counsellors and I'll see you all in four hours!" said Logan with a large smile, before a large cheer erupted from the campers before heading over to either Damien or Jacqueline to lead them to their chosen quarters.

Camp Varsity, a Camp that I've been going to for God knows how long. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Shane McCoy, Musical Theater student and all around musician. I've just finished up High School and gotten accepted into NYU's drama program and boy am I excited. This will be the last summer I've got to come to Camp, so I'm going to make it a good one. No more standing on the sidelines or settling for anything but the best. It's my turn and I'm taking it whether they like it or not.

After the Camp Director made his speech to all of the Campers, Damien took the boys off to their side of camp. He mentioned as we neared the tents that this year, they were trying something new. They were mixing everyone up, that we wouldn't necessarily be sleeping in the cabins with people in our programs. That was a bummer, I wanted to size up the competition but I would live with it. Damien dropped me off with some other guys and into the cabin we went. There were a bunch of bunk beds with names on them and I found mine pretty quickly. "Bottom bunk again? Oh well." Couldn't win them all, could you? I threw my bag down and started unpacking my stuff.

This could be a bit of a problem, since the group I was put into for our respective cabin seemed to be a couple of the sports jocks and one other I wasn't too sure about to be honest. All four of us entered the large cabin, where we entered the room with the two bunk beds with each one of our names on our bunks. I got the top bunk, whilst the other guy got the bottom. He seemed unimpressed by it, I felt a little bad for him actually and I didn't even know the guy; I think the counsellors favoured my squad a bit to be honest being national champions and all. I decided to change it up this year and turned to the guy in-question to speak with him, as the two jocks left to have a look around.

"Err..Hey, you can take my bunk, if you want? Might do me some good sleeping on the bottom bunk for a change, heh.." I said warmly with half a smile wondering if he'd appreciate my offer or not.

I had started unloading my bag, getting out some of the basic stuff that I would want out right now when the guy who had the top bunk came over. He must have heard me lament that I was on the bottom bunk and he offered to give me the top bunk. I just gave him a small smile and shook my head slightly, "No need to change a tradition," I said, giving a slightly hearty laugh. I had been bottom bunk kid since I had come to Lake Varsity, it only felt appropriate to finish off my time here with the bottom bunk. "It's fine, really. I'll make due. I'm Shane and you are?" I asked with some curiosity. He wasn't in the Musical Theater program, that I knew for sure. I'd recognize a face like his or so I'd like to think. I extended my hand and waited to see if he would shake it or not.

I smiled back at him, as he said he'd stick with tradition; which was an interesting concept funny enough considering I had always been a top bunker at Varsity. "Okay sure, no worries." I said softly enjoying the guy's laugh. My new bunk buddy soon introduced himself officially to me, which I was more than happy to welcome and naturally I returned the favour. "Shane? Great name dude. I'm Kasi." I replied shaking the other guy's hand slowly and smiled at him a little. "So Shane, I have a question.." I paused with a slight snicker, "You don't snore do you? Since we're bunking together and all.." I chuckled a little wondering what his answer would be after withdrawing my hand from his slowly, but kept my eyes on his the whole time.

I looked at Kasi or at least that's what I thought he said his name was and couldn't help but let out a slight giggle. He asked me if I snored or not, which was the first time anyone at camp had ever asked me that. I let my laughter subside for the moment as I answered his question, "No, I don't. Though I'm not sure it matters much, it's not like they're going to switch anyone because of snoring." I nodded my head, I hadn't heard of them doing that before. They'd most likely just tell a camper to deal with it or buy earplugs or something. Not that they were mean here or anything, just kind of the way it was. I took another quick breath as I spoke, "So, which program are you with? I'm with the Musical Theater." I said with a firm nod of my head. I was proud of my program and be damned if anyone else said otherwise.

Once our laughter had come to an end, Shane began answering my question honestly, which I appreciated naturally and then nodded my head a little after he confirmed he didn't. "Okay cool. It's only because, I'll having to get early a lot while I'm here and I'd rather not be extremely tired following a sleepless night, you know?" I revealed truthfully. I kept my attention on Shane's eyes, as it was his turn to ask me a question now and that's what he did, it would seem asking about what program I was on here and that he was part of the musical theatre program.

I smiled at him, "You are? That's awesome dude. We have a little bit in-common then." I said, before further answering his question fully this time. "Oh I'm a dancer or more accurately a male cheerleader; so its the cheerleading program for me and my squad." I revealed a little nervously, as I scratched the back of my head slightly not sure; how Shane would react to something like that; looking up at him.

I shrugged my shoulders and nodded my head. Trust me, there's nothing in me that judges people based on program. I took a deep breath and stretched my neck out, rolling it from side to side. I just gave Kasi a small smile as I spoke. "I've got no problem with that. People come here from all walks of life, nothing wrong with male cheerleaders." I nodded my head up and down. I knew that there was nothing wrong with him being a cheerleader any more so than me being in the musical theater program.

I sat down on the bottom bunk and stretched out, it was as uncomfortable as it usually was but given time, the kinks in the mattress would work out, they always did. "So, what are you going to do while waiting for the main bash?" I asked.

Kasi smiled at Shane feeling a little relieved that his roommate wouldn't have a problem with male cheerleaders etc but who knows, how their other two roommates would feel. Kasi assumed he would find out eventually."Cool. I love musical theatre anyway. Wicked is one of my all time favourite shows actually.." he revealed looking down at Shane, who had just sat down on his bunk.

The muso then asked Kasi, what he was going to do till the main party, "Well if I know my girls, they would want to rest up for two hours via sleep and then spend the next two hours getting ready.." he laughs, "The other guys? Not sure.." he revealed, "There isn't a lot of us.." he added: "I'm probably just going to unpack and then chill before taking a brief nap..that bus ride was long.." chuckled the male cheerleader, "What about you?" asked Kasi.

I swung my bag up and set it on my bed as I opened it up. I took out my swim trunks and held them up at Kasi. "I'm going down to my favorite spot on the Lake and going for a dip. I napped on the car ride in." I said with a nod my head. I figured that camp was meant to be enjoyed at all times, naps could happen later. "It's nice to have a spot that's just my own."I said with a nod of my head. I grabbed my towel and started to head towards the cabin door.

Kasi raised his eyebrow at Shane holding up his trunks, he grins a bit: "Well that sounds like fun, just be careful.." Kasi warned with a smile and watched Shane grab his towel and got ready to leave: "Dude, don't you want to get changed here?" he wondered a little confused.

I shook my head back and forth with a little bit of vigor. I just smiled at Kasi as I spoke to him. "Nope, I change out there. It's private enough and I like the feeling of the air against all of me." I just gave Kasi a smile, sure, that might surprise him but I didn't really care what people's perception of me was. I was just going to be me and not compromise for anyone.

Kasi laughs, "A man of nature eh? Hey..that's cool. I'll guess, I see you later on then?" he wondered, where Shane nodded and headed out leaving Kasi grinning to himself and went back to unpacking his shit. A couple of hours had passed, since Shane and Kasi's first meeting and Kasi had already set his alarm for a certain time, so he could sort himself out for later. He was fast asleep on the top bunk above Shane's and was currently shirtless showing off some of his mid-muscular build with one arm underneath the pillow and the other one resting in-front of his face a short distance away.
